Notes 8.5.1 if you (or your users) like Red for Unread you are gonna love this!

One of the biggest user complaints I have heard from long time Notes users when being upgraded to Notes 8.x was the change in color of their Unread mail.  In Notes 7.x and prior unread messages always appeared in the color Red in their inbox.  Beginning in Notes 8.0 Unread mail was changed to Bold Black.   A picture named M2 Sure there was a work  round available to change Unread mail back to Red, but it was not a great solution for a large deployment.. Now in Notes 8.5.1 the choice between Bold Black and Red is a preference! A picture named M3 making the Inbox look like this A picture named M4 If you look at the preferences pane carefully you will also notice you have the ability to change the font used in the mail file to a larger size via preferences as well, yet another popular request. Disclaimer: Notes 8.5.1 is still in Beta and therefore subject to change between now and it’s ship date.

The Design Partners have recently been given a bit of leeway to begin discussing Notes 8.5.1. Browse through Planet Lotus { Link } and you will find additional blog posts on Notes 8.5.1

It was possible to change this even prior to 8.5.1 , all you had to do was to modify the CSS file “Themes\notes.css”,
which is located inside of the zipped file: “com.ibm.notes.branding_8.5.0.20081211-1925.jar”

    just look for “mailtable>row>unread”
    and change “color” to “red”

Ah, yes. Another fun paradox. Just like restricted agents get to do more than unrestricted agents do! Any changes in this area for 8.5.1?

Isn’t it funny what people complain about? I can’t even remember noticing that it had changed from red to bold black Emoticon

The real funny thing is this has been in iNotes since 6.5, so have ghost calendar entries.
