Maybe I Should Just Install a SAN

I have been working over the last few weeks (OK months) to clean up my home office, and finally starting to make some progress.  I have been getting rid of a lot of older hardware, in some cases replacing, in other cases just discarding.  Today I got to cleaning up old hard drives, which looked something like this: A picture named M2 I still have to destroy all those drives before discarding them.

    i recommend a drobo, they are amazing things (providing you get the one that suits your needs)

    Drobos are cool, but if you have some older equipment around, don’t forget FreeNAS. Nice little NAS server…

    If you have a computer that can take in the harddisks to be discarded I recommend Darik’s Boot and Nuke: { Link }
    It reliably wipes your disk clean

    Hammer, smash them to bits, gets the aggression out.
    Let the wife swing at them too and the kids.
    Caution, parts may fly off so get a sledge hammer with a nice arm on it so you are not a foot away.
    Oh and I second the boot and nuke.
