IBM (Lotus) Product Requirements – there’s an app for that!

Have you ever struggled to determine the prerequisites, compatibilities, etc while deploying an IBM solution? If you are still reading I am guessing the answer is yes.  IBM has developed a new site, designed to help you sort out these details.

Here for example is a report for Lotus Connections 3.0 Operating Systems Supported

Note the ability to save as PDF or print.

There is a nice list of reports as you can see, and in the few samples I tried it worked fine, this looks, like it could be a terrific resource.

Unfortunate it’s not up to date. Sametime only has up to 8.0.2, and Sametime versions with Domino, websphere, DB2 get really interesting in 8.5 and later.

    Carl,

Your statement is not accurate. After rolling out Sametime 7.51, IBM starting offering various edition of the Sametime product. If you use the Software product compatibility reports tool
(http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/prodguid/v1r0/clarity/index.html) with the proper names of the products you will see the complete list of Sametime product offerings. For example, if you search using the following product titles Lotus Sametime Advanced, Lotus Sametime Entry and Lotus Sametime Standard you will see more versions of the Sametime product.

Please use the feedback mechanism in the tool, so that we may provide additional guidance on use of the tool.
