My Favorite Lotus Connections Technote Updated for Lotus Connections 3.0

Everyone has a favorite Technote right?  Well here is mine “IBM Lotus Connections 3.0 Support Statement”. 

As IBM has done for previous versions of Connections, they detail which components are required to be at a very specific revision and which ones will be supported to an extent at higher revision levels.

For Connections 3.0 there is only one product listed in the “Restrictions” section and that is Websphere Application Server which must be 7.0.0.11 with the required fixes.

Higher revisions of IBM Java, DB2, and LDAP will all be supported, unless the specific version is determined to be the cause of any issues.

Read the technote for detailed definitions of “Support Product”, “Newer Versions and Releases of Supported Products”, and “Unsupported Products”.

The technote makes no mention of Tivoli Directory Integrator, the documented version is TDI 7.0 Fix Pack 5, so I wonder if there is an opportunity to work with TDI 7.1 with Connections.

I am glad to see IBM continue to update this for each version, and be willing to support the product across a wider set of component product versions.  I know many would like to see Websphere Application Server off of the restriction list, maybe in a future release.
