Farewell Old Friend

This morning it was time to say farewell to my old car a 2002 Saturn SL2, I am amazed it made it this far, the transmission has been having issues for a while now, and recently it would no longer go in reverse which was the end of it.   I thought about just dumping the car in the backyard but in the end decided to donate it to an organization that can hopefully make some good use of it.

Here is the car being towed away

    1-877-Kars for Kids…

I wonder if you could find a used Corolla for sale?

    Mitch,

I do have a car that I pretty much dumped in the backyard (part of the driveway) 3 years ago. The idea was to trade it in, but we never got around to it.

Can you share more details on how the donation worked?

    Thanks!

We have donated a couple of cars over the years, this time we used Kars 4 Kids I just warn you their song will get stuck in your head (that’s why Daniel knew the phone number see previous comment)

I picture it being like George Costanza’s answering machine greeting, lol.

Very sad day…. Someday my car will join your Saturn in the great parking lot in the sky.

Now, don’t tell me those are the tires that originally came with the car. Either that or you’ve been drag racing.

Uh, yeah. Unless you bought F1 tires to begin with, most tires should have something called “tread” on them.

Did you ever find out how the car in your back yard came to be there?
