Maybe I Should Just Install a SAN

I have been working over the last few weeks (OK months) to clean up my home office, and finally starting to make some progress. I have been getting rid of a lot of older hardware, in some cases replacing, in other cases just discarding. Today I got to cleaning up old hard drives, which looked something like this:

I still have to destroy all those drives before discarding them.

2 - Drobos are cool, but if you have some older equipment around, don't forget FreeNAS. Nice little NAS server...

3 - If you have a computer that can take in the harddisks to be discarded I recommend Darik's Boot and Nuke: { Link }
It reliably wipes your disk clean

4 - Hammer, smash them to bits, gets the aggression out.
Let the wife swing at them too and the kids.
Caution, parts may fly off so get a sledge hammer with a nice arm on it so you are not a foot away.
Oh and I second the boot and nuke.
