Tri State Lotus User Group July Meeting recap

This past Tuesday night was the second gathering of the newly formed Tri State Lotus User Group.  In keeping with the Tri State name of our group after holding our inaugural meeting in NYC, we moved to Newark, NJ for the July gathering.   The evening kicked off with Declan Lynch “Xplaining XPages” declan Declan did an outstanding job sharing his considerable knowledge of XPages, in what turned out to be a very interactive session with lots of questions from the audience throughout the hour.   For more information on XPages Visit Declan’s Blog, or check out his 54 part series on learning XPages.  Declan is also a contributor on the recently launched XPages Blog Our second presentation of the evening was given by Akiba Saeedi of IBM, who introduced Sametime 8.5 including a live demo of the new meeting experience in Sametime 8.5 and as a bonus also briefly discussed and demoed Sametime Unified Telephony Akiba For more information on Sametime 8.5 check out the Sametime Blog, and remember there is still time to Register for Collaboration University which includes sessions on Sametime 8.5 The highlight of the evening of course was Kathleen’s fresh baked cookies cookies Follow the Tri State Lotus User Group and it’s Organizers on Twitter to be informed when we plan our next meeting.  Feel free to get in touch to suggest topics or locations for a meeting.

One Week left until the next TriStateLug Meeting (and the stakes have been raised)

Have you registered yet for the next meeting of the Tri-State Lotus User Group? We have a great agenda with session on XPages and Sametime 8.5.  If that is not enough to get you to register co-organizer Jim Casale has extracted a promise from both myself and Kathleen based on attendance. The challenge goes like this if we have more then 25 attendees Kathleen bakes cookies for the meeting, 50 attendees I will wear a tie, 75 attendees I will wear a suit and tie (I don’t know where Jim came up with me wearing a tie, but it is not something that happens too often) To keep it fair, Organizers, Speakers, and other IBMers do not count towards the total. As of today it looks like Kathleen will be baking, but I am not dusting off my tie yet, but if you decide to join us that may change..
