2007 Wrap up and a look ahead to 2008

A quick look back at 2007 and a brief look ahead to 2008. The biggest project of the year was the  Sametime 7.5.1 upgrade, while we had a few small bumps in the road overall the project was a huge success.  I personally spent a lot of my time this year working on Notes/Domino 8 and now 8.0.1 Beta releases, as well as Quickr 8.0 beta and now the released product.  Lotus Connections was another big focus for me from getting Lotus Connections 1.0 to work with Domino LDAP to building a full environment with the 1.0.2 release, and getting involved with IBM in the design partner program for the next release.   I was fortunate to be able to attend a number of conferences this past year including Lotusphere and Collaboration University, and the IBM Premium Support Seminar.  Launching and keeping up with this blog was a major accomplishment for me this year. Finally just this morning I completed watching  the entire West Wing series. I never watched it on TV when it aired between 1999 and 2006.  A friend of mine loaned me the first season, and I was hooked.  The seven seasons kept me occupied during my morning workout on the treadmill.   I have a backlog of other things to watch, I think next up is 24 Season 4, Prison Break Season 1, and I am waiting for The Shield Season 6 to come out.  I also think I missed one or two seasons of Rescue Me along the way will have to catch up there as well.  I am always looking for suggestions for new things to watch, as long I have something to hold my interest I am pretty good at putting a few miles in each morning, which is good since I spend the rest of the day sitting at a computer. Looking ahead to next year, January will be mostly consumed with Lotusphere, I will be speaking at Lotusphere, still working out all of the details so I will post them soon.  I am looking forward to meeting in person many people I have met only in the blogpsphere.  Following Lotusphere I have a busy year planned with Upgrades to Notes/Domino, Quickr, and Sametime planned, as well as working on an implementation of Lotus Connections.  I will also be participating in more managed beta and design partner programs with IBM in 2008.  Personally 2008 will be an exciting year as my wife and I are expecting our second child in the spring. Happy New Year

I love how you threw in the West Wing “task.” After all, it’s important to have your priorities in order!
