Breakfast Guest

There goes another orginal

This is the refrigerator we found in our house when we moved in, it is most likely the original one from when the house was built in 1966.  For most of the 11 years we live here it has been relegated to the garage used for extra capacity when needed.  A few weeks ago the freezer stopped working so today we say goodbye and welcome it’s replacement. We couldn’t get another one in yellow (not that we wanted a yellow one), the replacement is white.

It’s just too nice of a day not to fire up the BBQ

Looks like we have some new neighbors

They were waiting for me when I got home this evening

You can’t do this with the electronic edition of the newspaper

Today’s daily dose of destruction from the almost 3 year old twins

Now that I see what the grass looks like maybe it would be better off covered with snow

Hill Street Blues!

Many of you who follow me have heard me refer many times to the hill I live up, mainly in the context of snow, where I have a simple strategy get up the hill before it snows, or stay down until they plow (or at least plan on leaving your car down the hill).  I thought I would try to give you an idea of what the hill actually looks like with these 2 videos. These were taken a few weeks ago, before the Blizzard.

Down the Hill

Up the Hill

For the curious, videos were taken on a Droid X, mounted on the windshield in the Droid X Car Mount.

Images of Blizzard 2010

Images of the December 2010 Blizzard, I cleared about 6″ of snow at 6PM Sunday, Monday morning I didn’t measure, but we easily had another 15″ maybe even more, hard to tell with all the wind howling around.  The snow actually exceeded the capacity of my snow blower, but it did a good job making a couple of passes over each spot.  With out the snow blower… well I don’t even want to think about it.  The kids had a good time playing in the snow, and got a day off from school (they are not on vacation this week).

Storm Damage

We ventured out in the backyard today for the first time since the severe wind and rain we had over the weekend, and look what we found in our neighbors yard.  Fortunately no one was hurt, and the only damage appears to be the doghouse.

5 Down 3 to go!
