The 2013 IBM Connect Tablet Survey

aka "Lotussphere"

Once again this year I am asking you take a moment and share with me your gadget plans for IBM Connect.

In addition to asking about tablets there is also a second question this year  asking about a laptop.  I am hoping for the first time to travel to Orlando with out a laptop, I wonder how many others might be planning the same.  Feel free to drop a comment why you require or don’t require a laptop.

Poll is open until January 23rd, results will be published on the 24th

I would LOVE to travel without my laptop, but at this time we’re still trying to get the strategy in place beyond email. For now, the laptop will travel with me, but stay in my room.

Still bringing a laptop, in case there are customer issues or anything else that I need to do that I can’t do without. It’s more insurance than anything else. Oh, and I might want to start writing my Dominopower piece, too – and I type much faster on a real keyboard.

Although I’m bringing my iPad, it will mostly be for entertainment purposes. Most of the work, I’ll do from my iPhone. I’ve brought my laptop to 9 previous Lotuspheres; and I’ve really only “really really” needed it one time. I’m cutting the cord this year. We also have a business partner who is responsible for emergency support.

ugh, I’ve already started second guess my decision to bring my laptop. I might just have to bring it.

I’m bringing a laptop for the same reasons as Andy and Mick, to use for strategy analysis and/or support. Like Andy, it will probably be in my room most of the time…

I’m bringing my Air because my co-presenter doesn’t want to bring a laptop…. 😛 Will probably just have it for insurance in case I need to do any customer support.

    Bringing a laptop:

    a) I need to do Demo’s 😉
    b) I need to do actual work (like Dev/Admin)
    c) 34 hours on a plane is too much time to waste just watching movies.

So that is 3 seats on the plane

      1. for you
      2. for the Yellow Suit (first class)
      3. for the aircraft carrier (aka your laptop)
