I never tried this hard to get to school!

I don’t think I ever tried this hard to go to school when I was a kid

WICOMICO CHURCH, Va. – A 6-year-old Virginia boy who missed his bus tried to drive to school in his family’s sedan — and crashed. His parents were charged with child endangerment. State police said the boy suffered only minor injuries and authorities drove him to school after he was evaluated at a local hospital for a bump on his head. He arrived shortly after lunch, Sgt. Tom Cunningham said. The boy, whose name wasn’t released, missed the bus, took the keys to his family’s 2005 Ford Taurus and drove nearly six miles toward school while his mother was asleep, police said.

6-year-old takes family car after missing bus While the six year old might have had good intentions, I am not sure about these geniuses.

WOONSOCKET, R.I. – Two Woonsocket High School boys did the right thing by trying to get to school on time. It was the way they got there that police had a problem with. Police told The Call of Woonsocket the boys ages 15 and 16 stole a car Tuesday morning in order to make it to school on time.

RE: The 6 yr old : I’m glad to see the police removed him and his brother from the home. If the kid can’t get supervision enough to make sure he isn’t missing the bus and taking the car, then his parents aren’t doing their job. My kids are 10 and 13, and I’d know it if they missed the school bus. I’d d* sure know it if they took my car keys!

The 15 & 16 yr olds…somehow I doubt that getting to school was the main motivator in stealing the car. Seems to me like it was the excuse they gave when caught. But, again, where are the parents? When we were 15/16 yrs old, if we missed the bus, we called mom…stealing someone else’s car never crossed our minds.
