The time has come. Over this weekend I will be migrating this blog from Domino to WordPress. If everything goes according to plan you should see little to no interruption in service, once the DNS changes are made you will simply redirect to the new blog using the same URL. All of the posts and comments will be migrated as well, though this blog will remain behind as well for reference. There has been some interest in the process I am using to migrate, I will post more details on the tools, process, and those who helped make it happen, as well as why I made this decision after I am migrated. If you are an RSS subscriber you should continue to receive updates, as the RSS feed is via Feedburner so the same URL will continue to work.
Good luck with the migration! Will you be moving the data from Notes database over to WordPress? I have an old Notes based blog, about 3 year old and would like to convert the records to the WordPress format.
I migrated from Domino to Blogger (Google) earlier this year. I had been using Blogger prior to using the Domino blog template and while Domino is a good blogging platform, it just wasn’t meeting my needs. I haven’t migrated the content from Domino and I’m not sure it’s worth my effort. Time to look forward.
