Can Fix Packs be installed over Upgrade Packs?

I hear this question frequently with Domino 8.5.3 now having Upgrade Packs and Fix Packs available

    The bad news here is that IBM is not adding fixes for the Upgrade Pack into the Fix Pack. So, there is no way of getting fixes for the added controls in the Upgrade Pack. IBM has not stated when Upgrade Pack 2 will be out. The only way to get any fixes is to go back to the unsupported Extension library which has been updated on a regular basis.
